Jobs on the Water:
Tubing, Wakeboarding and Waterskiing Boat Captain
We are looking for captains with at a USCG OUPV (six-pack) license or higher to run our tubing, wakeboarding and waterskiing boats. Captains take private groups of up to six passengers on 1-3 hour watersports excursions, teach wakeboarding and waterskiing and pull a 3-4 person tube.
This is a seasonal position from May or June to August or September with potential for excellent tips and professional advancement. Starting pay is $15 per hour with potential for over $300 per day in gratuity on a busy day.
Candidates must be friendly, fun and outgoing as this job requires constant customer interaction. Experience with wakeboarding and waterskiing is ideal. We will train candidates familiar with these activities to teach beginner lessons.

Parasail Captain
Nor’Banks is looking for a parasail captain for the 2024 season and beyond to assist captain Sean McShea. This full-time position will include part-time hours as a parasail captain as well as shuttling and fun, lucrative shifts captaining our tubing boats. USCG Master Captain Credential and parasailing experience are required. We will consider training experienced parasail mates!

Parasail Mate – Position Filled
This is a perfect summer job for a charismatic individual who loves to work outside and work closely with people.
The parasailing mate works with the captain aboard the parasail boat inflating and deflating parachutes, helping customers with safety gear, giving instruction, taking photos and entertaining our guests.
We will train the right candidate, however prior experience with parasailing, boating, customer service and/or photography is a plus.
This is a physical job and candidates must be able to handle long days on a boat and in the sun. As with any crew position, parasail mates have to be drug tested and participate in our random drug testing program.
This is an excellent opportunity for any individual interested in a potential career on the water. We will provide training, sign off on sea-time and even pay for the right candidate to get his or her captain’s license.
Compensation starts at $12 per hour plus commissions and $150-250 per day in tips on a busy day. We offer commissions on photo and video sales. Higher pay available for experienced parasail mates.

Assistant Watersports Manager
The assistant watersports managers help coordinate rentals, supervise the pier and waterfront front where our rentals and activities take place and play a key role in maintaining our equipment. Watersports, boating and management experience are preferred, but we will be willing to train the right candidate.
Leadership, organization, positive attitude and excellent customer service skills are essential to this position.

Sailing Manager
We are looking for an experienced sailor to help manage our fleet and our sailing staff. The sailing manager must be able to maintain our Hobie Getaways, Waves and Flying Scots in excellent condition by overseeing routine and preventative maintenance as well as identifying and fixing issues.
The sailing manager will work on the water daily, rigging boats alongside the sailing staff and instructors and providing private lessons to customers. Teaching certification is preferred, but not mandatory. The sailing instructors and sailing staff report directly to the Sailing Manager. Experience in leadership roles is beneficial.
Hourly pay $16-18 plus tips. Pay will be negotiated based on experience, ability and certification. Candidates must be available from May through the end of August or later.

Sailing Instructors and Sailing Staff
We are looking for sailing instructors and sailing rental staff to help with daily lessons and sailboat rentals on Hobie Getaways, Hobie Waves and Flying Scots.
Excellent communication skills, a positive attitude and sailing experience are essential. Previous experience teaching and sailing or instruction certification are preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidates.
This position will involve rigging, maintenance, customer rental orientations and private instruction among other duties.
Starting pay is $10-15 per hour, depending on sailing experience, plus tips. There is potential for higher pay for candidates with instructor certifications and/or management potential.

Rental Staff
Rental staff assist in daily boat maintenance as well as customer assistance, safety and instruction and must be comfortable with physical work on the beach and in the water. Staff will assist with WaveRunner, kayak, SUP, motor boat and sailboat rentals and maintenance.
All applicants must be reliable and possess excellent communication skills.
Prior experience in customer service, life-guarding or boating is helpful, but not required. The best applicants are quick learners with a positive attitude as we pride ourselves on friendly and respectful service.
Perks include use of kayaks, WaveRunners, sailboats, motorboats, surfboards and parasailing as well as access to various watersports instruction such as sailing and wakeboarding.

Content Creator
We are looking for a creative individual with experience in photography, videography, video editing and social media marketing. Related experience in marketing, WordPress, SEO and writing are a plus!
Our content creator will work on and off the water to create helpful and engaging photos, videos and written content for the Nor’Banks website and social media pages. Content will include safety videos, photos and videos of all our activities and other creative projects that will help us express Nor’Banks’ unique character.
Content Creator can be a part-time or full-time position depending on your skill set, interests and aptitude. We will also consider combining this position with other roles at Nor’Banks for full time work.

Jobs in our Retail/Reservation Center:
We are searching for staff for our newly expanded Retail and Reservation Center on location in Duck. The office staff is the customer relations front for our activities, rental and retail operation and will work in the brand new new open-air retail and reservation center with great views at our beautiful location on the sound in Duck. All of our staff have access to WaveRunners, sailboats, parasailing, kayaking, S.U.P.s, motorboats, tubing, wakeboarding and water skiing as well as various watersports instruction!
Great people skills both on the phone and in person are a must for our office staff. We are a high volume business and we are looking for candidates with excellent organizational skills to help keep us running efficiently. Candidates must be able to remain friendly, professional and detail oriented while dealing quickly and efficiently with a high volume of customers. Enthusiasm and a positive attitude are essential to your success in this position as well as technically literacy to adapt quickly to our cloud-based reservation and POS system.
Reservation Center Manager
Applicants must be available from early May through Mid October. Starting salary will be $16-18 hourly plus bonuses based on sales.
The Reservation Center Manager is the direct supervisor of the office staff and executes the following basic responsibilities:
- Coordinates reservation and activity schedules
- Opens and closes shop
- Creates staff schedules
- Manages clock-ins/clock-out through Timestation
- Makes bookings over the phone and in person
- Provides customer service and issue resolution
- Oversees retail operation, stocking, sales, etc.
- Works with cloud based waiver, employee scheduling, POS retail, rental and activity system
- Oversees reservation facility, manages cleaning schedules, etc.
The position requires excellent multitasking, communication and problem solving skills. The office is the epicenter of our business where we greet and sign-in customers, book activities and rentals and sell retail.
Starting salary will be $16-18 hourly plus tips and big commissions on sales. Exact rate is negotiable and will be commensurate with ability and experience. This position is seasonal, from May through mid October. There is room for advancement and additional pay for excellent candidates that are willing and able to take on more responsibility.
We will consider a broad array of skill sets for this position, as it involves elements of business administration, retail management, accounting, marketing, sales and more. The best candidates will have a background in one or more of these areas. At minimum we are looking for a self-starter who can keep our high volume business running efficiently. Top pay will be available to candidates that can bring added professional experience and perform above and beyond the primary duties to help our business continue to grow and succeed.

Retail Manager – Position Filled
Nor’Banks is looking for an experienced retail manager to help us grow our awesome retail presence onsite. Since 2017 Nor’Banks retail store has quadrupled its revenue and now we’re looking for someone to continue to help us grow as a surf boutique with killer apparel, curated gear and cool local gifts.
